i've always wanted to start my own e-commerce brand and i mean a proper actual brand not just some rubbish drop shipping store and i think now is the time for me to actually start this and my own personal opinion the way i see drop shipping going is not very well for the future like i said that's my own personal opinion there's just so many people trying to do it and i just think about if i was to have started a brand five years ago where would that brand be now instead of investing more money into dropshipping stores where would an actual brand be in five years time if you was to invest the same amount of money you might have a company that's worth hundreds of thousands maybe even millions you never know how things can pan out so like i said i think now is the time for me to start a proper legit e-commerce brand and i want to take you through the entire process and this is going to be a process that's going to happen over months so not just some silly 24-hour or 72-hour challenge and i have done those on my channel in the past and they're more for entertainment value because what can you really learn about setting up a business in 24 hours or a website in 24 hours and trying to make money for it realistically that's just stupid and it's not really realistic because business takes a lot more time than 24 hours and if you want to create an actual proper brand and something that's long term and going to provide you money for the long term it's not something you're going to set up in 24 hours you're going to spend a lot more time planning it out you're going to put a lot more investment into it and it's probably going to take a lot more time to get that investment back so firstly coming up with the idea for my brand now when you're thinking about an idea and for me personally when i'm thinking about an idea for a brand there are a couple of things that i'm going to take into consideration firstly the one thing that i really want to focus in on is i want to start a subscription-based business so that i can have a constant flow of income coming in if you're going to start an e-commerce brand and it's not a subscription-based business which there's loads of really really successful ones out there it means that you have to constantly have sales coming in whereas if you have a subscription-based business you can have less customers but you'll be having that money coming in every month so i want to start a subscription-based business and also another thing that i think is really important to think about when starting your own e-commerce brand is the level of interest that you have in it and a lot of people say don't follow your passion a lot of people say do follow your passion it's it's quite largely debated as to whether you should follow your passion or not when starting an e-commerce plan but my own personal opinion is you probably should start something that you at least have a mild interest in because i've started loads of different businesses and loads of different websites before and when when i don't have a good or a high level of interest in the actual thing i'm doing i get very bored very quickly and then i just want to quit it or shut it down so like i said if you're thinking about starting an e-commerce brand and this is the one of the main things i'm thinking about is to have at least a mild level of interest in the brand that you're going to start because when things do get boring and when things do get difficult if you have an actual interest in the product or in the business that you're starting that's what's going to give you the motivation to continue on with it so something that i have a mild interest and i actually have quite a a high interest in is men's suits and if you've ever watched my channel before you've never probably even seen me in a suit on this channel but i do have a really good a really high level of interest in men's suits and men's suit accessories and out of all of the sort of men's fashion industry that's the only thing that i really am interested in i usually wear quite plain clothes but when it comes to suits i actually like to wear something that's quite outlandish and nice and sleek so i'm thinking along the lines to start a men's suit subscription box but not only just are we going to have the subscription side of things i also want to have one-off products as well which are going to be suits that people can buy that men can buy so you can either sign up for the subscription box that will include include men's suit accessories or you can be on the website and purchase a men's suit so a custom men suit and i'm gonna go and draft together some different suits that i want to have created for this brand so i'm going to have to look at different manufacturers that i want to go and create these suits and then i'm also going to have to go and have a look at what i want to include in the subscription box now when it comes to creating a brand like this from what i've done over the years you always need to go and look at who your competitors are competitors are and currently at the moment there are only three really big men's suit subscription boxes one of them is sprezza box one of them is gentleman's box and they're both us-based and then there's one uk-based ones uk based one which is me my suit and tie so there's three in total and you might think well this there's three out there what's the point of starting another one but i want to have a sort of different spin on my one where i'm gonna go and actually everything in my box is gonna be from my own brand so spur the box gentleman's box and me my suit and tie they include products they kind of collect products together from loads of different brands and put them in one box whereas my subscription box is going to be all from my own brand and one of the main things that i want to focus in on is going to be men's watches so these three boxes spread the box gentleman's box and me my suit and tie they don't actually the hard level include watches and if they do include watches they're sort of just your basic brown strap watch so within my boxes i want to include a watch every single month and it's going to be my own brand's watch so they're going to be really nicely styled watches that go with all of the other accessories i'm going to try and keep it simple it's going to be a a tie a pocket square a pair of cufflinks and this branded watch and all of the products are going to be from my own brand so the tie is going to be my brand the pocket square is going to be my brand the cufflinks and the watches so everything's going to be my brand together and that's what's going to be my subscription and i think that's just gonna add a bit of extra value to the subscription box the fact that you get one watch every single month and i'm also gonna go and create another subscription which is just a watch every month so you can either opt for the whole box with all of the accessories or you can get one box which is just one new new watch every month which is going to be from my own brand and then we're going to go and we're going to have the suits as well so i'm going
