in the last few updates i talked about brand purpose and now i would like to switch gears and talk to you about brand values which are the basic beliefs in that really matters and guide how things should be done they are not about your products or services they articulate what you stand for and are infused in every aspect of the organization consumers are more likely to buy from a brand that shares similar values there are three ways you can increase your brand value first continue to purchase from the brand second purchase the brand over the competitor and third refer the brand to a friend like and follow for more

hi there let's take a quick look at the value that brands bring to a business don't forget a brand is something which helps distinguish a product or service from the competition it's something which makes it distinctive perhaps the design of the product or service the name the logo or some combination of all those things the key thing about a brand is that if it's built effectively it helps you communicate helps a business communicate and market a product or service more successfully before we see what the value of branding can be let's just quickly remind ourselves of some of the different types of brands you won't necessarily need to know all this detail but let's just spend a minute or two looking at some examples of of how brands operating in the business and the marketplace you'll be very familiar with different types of product brands the ones on the screen there are some examples of fast moving consumer goods fmcg brands from the unilever brand portfolio things like marmite and personal product brands but it doesn't have to be a physical product it could be a service and of course increasingly brands are being built that are purely based around a service delivered to consumers either for apps like uber paypal dropbox but also a service physically that's delivered like for example the vue cinema brand uh there are such things as family or umbrella brands these are brands that are assigned to more than one product effectively giving the product line or the product group a distinctive brand name also brands themselves can be the name of the business so we are very familiar with concepts and brands like lego and nestle when we talking brands of course in the retail sector the major supermarkets also want to get onto the branding game and so they have developed their own label brands and finally perhaps the the ultimate in branding so-called global brands brand names that are recognized worldwide they're familiar they're widely available around the world even though the product or service may be tweaked somewhat to meet local customer needs so we've seen some examples of brands there so what is the value of branding well there are three key key benefits of effective branding firstly from a consumer point of view a brand that you develop a relationship with you are more likely to perceive added value from your point of view next if that added value can be sustained and the brand value sustained you're more likely to become loyal to the brand you may aspire to own a particular brand and once you own one you're more likely to remain loyal and thirdly a brand that is able to achieve the first two is probably likely to be able to charge a higher price than the competition thereby making demand for that brand and its product more inelastic less sensitive to price changes so those are the key benefits of effective branding and that is the value of branding you
