hey everyone how are you guys doing so i don't know about you but i have started to see qr codes everywhere i go if i'm at a restaurant if i'm in a store and they're marketing an event and even on websites i'm seeing them everywhere so what i wanted to do is jump in here real quick and kind of explain what is a qr code and how do you scan a qr code and where is this qr code going to take me so you guys stay tuned hey everyone it's audrey with social media for that's number four beginners.com where i teach you the complete newbie how to use the different social media sites and all this new technology so that you can stay connected to your family and friends so what we're talking about today is qr codes if you have not seen a qr code this is what it looks like okay and i'm seeing them more in restaurants where they are not they really don't want people like handling the menus too much because of this pandemic that is going on so when you go to a restaurant they ask you to um you know scan their qr code and it pops up the menu on your phone that way you can look through your phone and choose what it is that you want i also went with um my daughter to go uh to like a little christmas parade at um one of the uh big big name stores here and they actually had this image right here where you could find out more information and schedule a time to see santa and then of course on websites that uh you know that have the qr codes so what is a qr code it's basically a bar code a barcode is one that goes up and down but this one is you know a little bit more fancier i think and what it does is when you scan it into your phone it automatically will bring up either a website this this can take you to a website it can take you to a different social media sites it can take you to maybe a pdf if you need it to download like a pdf document or a word document offline and it can even take you to an email where you can maybe email um you know a business or something okay so it basically instead of having to go to like google or to one of the other search engines and type in the domain name or the name of the website all you do is use your camera you put it up to the qr code and then it will pop up a link you tap on it and go from there now you used to have to be able to download an app in order to use qr codes back in the day when they first started uh arriving on the scene however now it's automatically on your iphone as long as you are using the ios the operating system on your iphone of 11 or above and what i'm gonna do is show you how to make sure that you are at that 11 or above and the other thing you want to make sure is that your qr code is enabled in your camera settings so i'm going to show you how to do that as well and you know what let's just do that right now the first thing that you want to do is go to your settings right here and let's just make sure that you have the ios 11 or higher so you want to tap on general and then tap on about and right here where it says software version see mine is at 14.1 you want to make sure that yours is at 11.0 or higher so let's tap twice to go back to screens and then what you want to do is make sure that you have enabled the qr code to be able to be read in the camera settings so you want to tap on camera and then right here where it says scan qr codes go ahead and make sure that that is on the green if it's on gray that means it's in a it's disabled and you want it to be enabled okay so let's get back to our home screen and you are ready to do a to scan a qr code and that's exactly what i am going to show you how to do right now okay so you've walked into a restaurant or a different place and i actually printed out this qr code that's going to take you to a place that is near and dear to my heart okay and so what you're gonna do is you're going to tap on your camera okay um let's see let's tap on the camera icon and now that's gonna open it up and now um i want to make sure that you are on photos down here at the bottom you're not on portrait or video or anything like that you want to make sure you're on photo and all you're going to do i mean you saw how easy that was you're just going to put the qr code right um within the screen and you notice how it says website qr code it says open it in safari all you're gonna do now is just tap on that and now it's gonna open up the website where the social media site or wherever that um the owner of that qr code wants you to go so in the restaurants and everything it's to their menu their online menu but for me what i did was i created this qr code just for y'all out there there you go if you want to scan it and try it out and it takes you actually to the website and maybe you guys didn't know this i figured i'd use this opportunity to share with you real quick is the courses that i offer over there for beginners because that's what this channel is all about is for you beginners um and you can take those courses that are being updated as we speak okay so there you have it that is how you scan a qr code using your iphone and if this video helped you why not give it a thumbs up and you know what if you already knew about it or you think it can help somebody else why not share it okay until next video y'all be blessed and be on the lookout for those qr codes because now you can scan them bye
Thanks patraca1 your participation is very much appreciated
