reviewing every single deal that appSumo puts out in 2020 at least so far so if you're not already subscribed go ahead and hit that subscribe button don't forget to hit that notification bell you notified when new videos come out today we're talking about brand mentions over on FC memo 49 bucks gets you in the door now this tool will help you monitor when people are talking about your company or your competitors online they'll tell you who and where they're talking about you so obviously there's two reasons you'd want to do this oh maybe it's not obvious the first reason is that you want to join in the conversation make sure it's going in a positive direction or at least an accurate direction and the second reason might be that you want to follow where your competitors are being discussed to make sure that your brand is also in that conversation so really when you start thinking about it there are a lot of reasons to monitor your brand online but does it work for small brands we'll find out I'm gonna actually look up this channel as we get into this video here first I'm gonna break down the deal what are you getting over at appSumo well there are basically just two options this is a fairly straight ahead deal you can see that a single code is 40 minute bucks double that to get a double sach almost all the limitations are just double but there's some things to explain so 20 keywords versus 40 keywords note that you can only track 20 keywords within one project so if you buy a double code here you would have to actually have multiple projects or multiple brands that you want to monitor to be able to use all 40 keywords because it is limited that is actually an increase from when the deal first launched they started off having just four keywords per brand so that is actually a boost we're also gonna get a hundred thousand Instant mentions and 15,000 historical mentions that gets doubled when you buy a second code now what is the difference between this well in instant mention is something that you can search and find that data immediately is gonna be you know in a relatively short period of time and hast historical mentioned we'll go back in time and give you much deeper data you can actually get notifications about historical mentions as they come out and you'll be able to dig in deeper there so that scales proportional within a second code then I've already mentioned the five project versus ten project so if you're managing clients you have more than five you'll definitely want to get the second code here another benefit is daily alerts versus real-time alerts so if you're managing so let's say reputation for clients you want to join it in conversations immediately as they happen you don't want these real-time alerts and the storage history you'll get one year of history versus five years of history with the double code and for most people the thing that'll really push over the edge is you get these white label reports when you go to the double code and you can also export your data so I have seen the reports they do have quite a bit of branding on them so we'll actually look at that later in the video all right let's go ahead and get this thing set up I'll go ahead and create my first project here start monitoring it says I'm gonna go ahead and type in that Ltd and look at that it even finds a brand as small as mine that's good news we'll go ahead and hit continue here sites and social accounts it's looking for sites that we already own so here is the website it was able to find that on its own it could not find our Facebook page let me go ahead and add that and it did find our Twitter profile so that's great if you're not aware you can head over to that Ltd doll life we have a great Ltd directory we're actually track every lifetime deal that comes out and you can sort by category or marketplace it's a really cool tool head over to that Ltd that life to take advantage of that in the next step here we're looking at the market to monitor this is basically where in the world do you want to track for mentions of your brand by default it's set to worldwide and any language however there are a lot of options here you can choose basically any country in the world it looks like and there are also a ton of different language options now I'm gonna leave this at default however one downside that I see is let's say I selected the United States but I also wanted to monitor let's say Canada or United Kingdom there's no way to add a second country it's kind of either the entire world or just one country same thing for languages I can't say a monitor English and Spanish at the same time it's either pick one or get everything now for most brands that's probably not going to be an issue all right starting project here it's researching the brand gonna pull in all the information and we'll see how good a job it does now at that Ltd that life we mentioned other brands we don't really backed brands to be mentioning us or there to be a great deal of conversation about that Ltd out life because we review stuff right so be kind of weird if the conversation was about us so I'm not expecting to pull in a ton of data here but let's see what they come up with alright so right out of the gates it's got six mentions here and a bunch of them are just our YouTube videos now there are some interesting ones where it says thin ice YouTube and least-favorite life cover YouTube now if I click on these what it's actually doing is it's finding videos that we are recommended for you can see here it says that that LTTE do you got life recommended for you if I open this up what it's doing is on a generic youtube search it's actually finding a video over here we would show up on the sidebar I guess occasionally I don't see us right here but you know it probably depends I'm not logged into YouTube through this but it probably depend on the Kiba time that it was searched so I can sort between all mentions web mentions and social mentions right now we don't have any web mentions it hasn't gotten that deep into the process yet remember that we can do what they call instant mentions and historical mentions well let's go ahead and grab that historical theta in up here in the corner I can do that now this is going to take some time it says it might take up to an hour so let's go ahead and hit that extract historical data and we'll see that slowly start to populate throughout the rest of this video now in this setup section over here there are a few options one is to monitor your backlinks and doing that is actually really easy they do it through Google Analytics so you have to have Google Analytics already set up on your website but you just go over to your projects settings here and then go down to you where it says monitor backlinks and you're just gonna connect your Google Analytics account right here all right now any time an external website links back to that Ltd to life I'll get an email
