fact manfrotto just sent me this i've never seen these before didn't even know they made these massive box for this manfrotto sd cards who knew people asked me how i managed to get so many brands to send me products to review and it baffles me sometimes as well because i'm still a small channel and i probably started getting sense stuff after only four months of being on youtube and i've still got less than a thousand followers on instagram but i've managed to work with companies such as manfrotto 360 godox xiun lopro knf deity microphones comica microphones moser spiffy gear andy cine hire a camera and loads more now i must be doing something right so i'm going to share with you the things that i do so that you can work with more brands and review more gear without having to pay for it now doesn't that sound great and as a bonus i'll introduce you to aussie youtuber ellie awesome and she is awesome and she'll be sharing the strategies that she's developed over her 10-year youtube career for negotiating payment with brands so not only do you get sensed free of charge but you also get paid to make the video so let's get straight into it most people think that i reach out to brands and ask them to review gear but i don't do that i don't like doing it it makes me feel uncomfortable i don't like asking for things on the other hand if you don't ask you don't get you might get lucky sometimes but the thing is why should a brand invest in you what have you got to offer them if you're only just starting and you haven't got a portfolio of review videos they don't know what value you can bring to them so if you've got no following and you haven't got any experience in it you're just reaching out saying can you send me some free stuff please because i want it and that's not a good start so i don't like to do that and i suggest doing the things in this video it's a much more organic better way of doing it i think feel free if you if you fancy reaching out to load of brands go for it it might work but i think there's other things that you can do that will work better and better ways of using your time should put this on okay so tip number one is start with what you do have if you're watching this you've probably got a bunch of gear anyway so my advice would be do a video reviewing every single piece of gear that you've got start there that's the other thing that distinguishes why you want to work with brands do you just want to be sent stuff because it looks cool and you want that thing or are you doing it because you actually want to make videos on youtube because there's nothing stopping you from making videos about anything that you already own it doesn't have to be gear i've done a video about sticky notes it could be this shelf that i use for gear got it from ikea you could do a review on that your desk speakers anything you've got build up a portfolio of review videos to make sure that when companies do approach you you've got something to show them brands are going to be more inclined to work with you if they can see what your style is they can see how you approach making these videos so build up a little bank of videos about the gear that you already own when you make your video it's important to be positive about the brand now this all depends on your style be completely unique in yourself and do that but generally speaking essentially you are working for the brand so you need to get their message across you need to point out the key features of that product and the things that stand out and why people should have that product you want to be positive about the product that you're talking about having said that it's also important and brands don't mind this in fact they like it you need to point out considerations you can't just sell anything to anybody for example this tripod from manfrotto it's an amazing travel tripod but if you've got a huge camera rig it's not going to take the weight because look how thin the legs are but that's where it's important to know the target market of the piece of gear that you're reviewing so you can't just sell it to everybody you've got to say it's great for this but if you're thinking about doing that then you need to look for something else that makes sense you have to be open about the considerations or the downsides of the product or the development points not just the good points plus people come back at you then sam i bought this tripod and it's no good for this you told me it was going to be amazing and then it's kind of on your head and you've got to deal with that so you've got to be very careful about how you sell something to somebody that's why i like to approach it by saying this is great for me because of this i love this product because of this i don't tell anybody to buy anything i'm just sharing why i like stuff because i'm being so positive and enthusiastic about the product when brands see this they like that they like to have people that believe in their product and are really passionate so they see me and go up he's a great fit for our company let's send him some stuff because we know he's gonna send out our message and he's really positive so once you've made your video you need to post it as many places as you can across all of your social media platforms whatever they are my favorites are instagram and youtube i focus on those mainly but wherever you are most prominent go for that make sure that you tag the brands in that you're talking about you never know where they might see it that's how i reach the brands by tagging them in my pictures or clips on social media and then drawing them back to youtube they then might share that on their own page and this is a good start another thing to do is comment on your favorite brand's posts and comment something genuine don't be over the top don't go overboard because they can sense that they can sense that fakeness so just be really genuine don't expect anything don't expect too much from them don't expect them to instantly send you something just every now and then comment on their posts and eventually they'll see your name cropping up but not too often you don't want to be a creep they'll see that and then after a few they'll check out your page and see what you do and if they like that they will then ask you to do something now this one comes down to your personal preference and what you want your channel to be and your style but i personally don't swear on any of my videos because i want to be a family friendly channel that anybody can access i want to be brand friendly i don't want anyone to look at my channel and think oh that's not suitable some people don't mind some companies don't mind they like that raw edge but for me i'm not really like that in real life anyway so it'd be a bit cringy if i started doing it on videos just to try and be cool so i try and keep it as clean as possible and by doing that you're reaching a wider audience you're not narrowing your chances of who you're gonna work with it's a lot safer to do it that way next tip is be easy to find and easy to contact make sure on across all of your social media pla

right now i'm about to give you guys to see this is how to get free stuff and it works every time it's foolproof listen and tune in right now what's up you guys and thank you so much for tuning back into taylor time tv on today's episode i'm gonna be spilling all the sea on how i got free clothes free hair free everything before i even got 1 000 subscribers or 1 000 followers now you have to watch an entire video and compile everything i'm saying to be able to get this free stuff or you guys it's just not gonna work so if you're not gonna watch the entire video just tune out right now just tune out now let's get right into the tea first things first if you want free stuff i recommend that you guys compile an entire list of a bunch of brands that you guys want to work with a bunch of brands that you already use and a bunch of brands that are relevant to your lifestyle do not just compile lists of brands like gucci and louis vuitton you've never worn gucci or louis vuitton or anything like that you have to start off small and i recommend that you start off with stuff that's already in your closet and i'm going to explain why so what you're going to do once you have that list is you're going to go through and you're going to find stuff that's already in your closet or stuff you already own skincare products or whatever and you're going to take a whole bunch of pictures with them once you take these pictures make sure they look nice they're quality they're very clear they're very lifestyle very bomb giving you a vibe and what you're going to do is you're going to post these pictures and you're going to tag the brand tag them on the picture tag them in the caption tag them in the comments dm people ask them to tag them tag tag tag you guys these brands see when you're tagging them and how much you're tagging them if you really want a brand tag them as much as possible make posts constantly tagging the same brand once you have build up a rapport and you're kind of like they're kind of familiar with you whether they've contacted you or not then i recommend that you guys dm the brand or email them if their bio says just email them then email them don't dm them sometimes they won't respond to your dms tell them i love your brand so much and you guys the important thing is and i'm telling you guys from experience because i have a business where a lot of people mess up is that people will say oh i want this or i want that nobody cares okay you're coming to a brand and you're asking them for something they don't know you you you're not offering anything so be smart with it you guys i always get brand deals and collaborations because i always ask the brand how i can help i'm asking them and trying to build a relationship first you really want to like talk to these people like hey is there anything i can do i tag you guys i love your brand what numbers do i have to get how many likes do i have to get to be able to work with you guys in the future and nine times out of ten you guys you're gonna get a response because you're coming to these people very humble and you're not just asking for free stuff i recommend that if you're a smaller youtuber or smaller influencer instagram whatever you are that you ask them for a gifting opportunity first a gifting opportunity is when they will give you free products in exchange for a tag or an exchange for review you're more likely to get that as a small influencer because they know that you are small so you are a micro influencer and you're a little bit closer to your actual audience so you're more likely to get more engagement and they and brands are working with micro influencers just as much if not more than they're working with big macro influencers and the regular influencers so they really value seeing everyday people posting their products don't think just because you don't have a like a lot of likes or you don't have a lot of followers that brands just don't care about you because they actually really love that i've seen people with 500 subscribers have more collaborations or sponsorships than me or you know than someone that i've seen with twenty thousand fifty thousand and a hundred thousand so it's not about that you guys it's about engagement and the way to get engagement is when you do post your picture with the brand let's just say for the sake of this video you like a skincare brand and you take your picture with you know whatever the skin cream is that you're using right now i'm about to give you guys to see this is how to get free stuff and it works every time it's full proof listen and tune in right now what y'all need to do is once you post your picture with the brands tagging the brand as much time since i told you to tag them you need to dm all of your closest friends dm everyone who interacts with your post and tell them to tag the company tell them to say how much you know like oh my gosh i'm gonna try this out say stuff like tell them to say stuff like oh i'm gonna try this out or you made me want to buy this stuff like that because that's going the brand is going to look at that anytime a brand is tagged they're looking in the comments because they're trying to see like okay what's going on here are yeah she has a picture with the skincare but are the people in the comments actually caring about the skincare or are they just caring that she posted a picture and they're just saying nice picture blah blah so that's why a lot of small influencers are able to get collaborations because they have an engaging audience that's actually saying like hey i bought this because of you i remember i was just under a thousand subscribers and someone commented under one of my videos or one of my posts that was like i saw you post this and i now i'm gonna go buy it and send that to a brand and i was able to you know sign on a deal with them because i'm like hey i've been promoting your products other people are telling me they're using it and they like it now and that's how i was able to secure that if you don't actually have the products that you want to work with i recommend that you guys go get a product that looks exactly like that products for example i wanted to work with a waist training company but i didn't have a really good waist trainer so i just went and found like a really old waist trainer that my mom had or something like that or you can go buy something that's like the off-brand version and you take a picture with that and you can send it to the company or start hashtagging you know waste training blah blah blah and that's how companies find you as well speaking of hashtags hashtags is going to be very important when you start putting influencer brand ambassador you know skin care enthusiasts stuff like that a lot of brands are using these hashtags and they're looking for more people to work with a lot of the times if you just want free product in exchange for review a company is more likely to work with you because they they don't have to actually give up free products and pay for someone to promote so brands are pretty open about giving doing gifting opportunities like i mentioned ear
