hey guys what's up my name is Noah and this channel is called wholesale direct where I try to give you the information as direct as possible and help you grow and build your e-commerce business so you can create different sources of revenue for yourself when you want to grow your business you have two main options well you have three options you can embezzle and do tax evasion but leaving that aside you'll have two main options you can either grow what you're currently doing so if your drop shipping if you're doing a thrift thing or something like that you can either grow with that or you can incorporate a new business and no tax evasion is not a new business but you can actually just have a different sector or a different revenue stream for your business so for me I've undertaken doing wholesale and adding that to my business basically I have wholesale accounts with a bunch of different wholesalers distributors manufacturers whatever other names that they go by and I now purchase in bulk from them and I have it shipped to my house yet because I don't have a warehouse I am working on getting it but until then I have it shipped to my house and then what I do is I repackage it I just put on the labels and everything and I will keep some of it here just because I get some orders on Macari I get some orders on eBay that I would like to ship from a house and then I also will send some of it to the Amazon FBA warehouse where I can then make it more passive Amazon will take care of everything two day shipping bada-bing bada-boom now my business is growing more and more so ever since I posted that in my last video that I was doing wholesale now from actual wholesale companies and I was buying Hasbro I was buying Funko pop I was getting all these name brand stuff a lot of people have been asking me if I could make a video of course your to know I was gonna make another video so I can actually get my watch time up all jokes aside I actually wanted to make a video showing how you can start and actually get started in wholesale with having little money because I'm not going to sit here and tell you oh you can actually start wholesale with no money because that's not true the wholesale business is very capital intensive and that's why it took me a little longer to actually get into wholesale I did start by buying from China I started Amazon FBA and I bought a couple of units from Alibaba and that ended disastrously and after I lost that $5,000 I first off didn't have any money and also I was very discouraged and I didn't want to have to deal with inventory and sinking that much money up front in a business again so when working with wholesalers the reason that you're going to need a lot of money is that most of these wholesale companies want to do business with actual other businesses so they want to do business with retailers who have experience with selling online and probably most of you are dropshippers I'm assuming that most of my viewers are retail dropshippers and most of you who have experience just ordering a product from Lowe's and instead of sending it to your house you send it to your customers house that's not what they want to do these businesses want to make sure that they're dealing with professional businesses because these customers they want them to be customers that are repeatedly ordering large orders so we're talking five thousand ten thousand twenty thousand two million dollars a month and once they get those reoccurring for these wholesale businesses that's how their business makes money they buy in bulk and then they have a quick turnaround times sending out those items to other businesses who are retailers who quickly will turn around those items on Amazon and then they will need to replenish their inventory now I have started buying in bulk and I have spent a little bit more money but like I said in today's video I'm going to be showing you how to work with different wholesalers from different ranges of how you can actually find them so we're going to be talking about how to find these wholesalers with name-brand products some of them are going to have high mo Q's some of them are going to have medium quantities that you will need to actually buy from and some of them are going to have a zero dollar mo Q's which of course you still need to actually pay for the items but you don't have to spend $5,000 up front and the reason why having this opportunity the purchase wholesale is so good for your business is because you get better profit margins when you buy in bulk like I said in the beginning of the video as well you get better discount the greats the suppliers are going to give you better pricing and you just get better profit margins you get to make better relationships with your suppliers all in all I think this is a great addition to having an e-commerce business so without further ado I have my computer and let's dive in and we're going to go in detail how to find the suppliers step by step so for this example I'm gonna be showing you how I found Funko pop distributors now I already had a distributor who was selling Funko pop but I'm going to show you step by step as if I was a beginner myself because I'm assuming most of you are now the first thing that you're gonna want to do is like everywhere else that you start in the internet you start at Google and you're going to type in the brand Plus either distributor or wholesaler or manufacturer any of those of buzz words so I typed in Funko pop distributors and then that's going to pull up on the page all of these different distributors it's gonna pull up Funko pop itself anyone who's advertising for the word Funko pop or for distributor for it so you'll see right here on the top we have the ads underneath that it says the reseller application for Funko pop which we don't want to apply to be a reseller we want to buy it from a reseller for them and then we are the retailer so as you scroll down you're going to see a store locator that's not what we want and here we have different manufacturers and different wholesalers listed underneath that for a Funko pop so we're going to open all of these up so we have southern hobby which if you have watched my channel is someone who I recommend and someone who I work with they are a great company under that you have another one and then you have eg distribution so I would open all of these up and what you're going to do is you're going to check each and every one and you're going to check first off if they have those items and the other thing that you want to check out is you want to read their website to see if they have a high moq so for Southern hobby we're just going to go on and I've already opened up the dealer application so here we have all the steps to open an account now I'm not going to go through with it but what you would do is you would see their agreements and their policies and you would in 60 seconds or less here's what you need to know about wholesaling on amazon this is the practice of purchasing branded products in bulk from an existing manufacturer supplier or distributor and then reselling them on amazon the benefits include being able to sell high demand products since you can sell established brands that shoppers are already searching for this also takes the burden off of your shoulder for having to market the business it's quick to get started simply because you don't have to create a new brand from scratch plus if the supplier is located in your country you don't have to deal with the cost and time associated with overseas shipping there's also very low risk involved as you aren't the one manufacturing the product therefore you won't be held responsible for any safety liabilities or production issues and with wholesaling it's a very scalable business model that's because when your products are selling extremely well you can quickly increase your inventory to keep up with customer demand so as i'm sure you can clearly see selling wholesale on amazon can be a very lucrative opportunity but before diving in there's a lot you need to know that's why we've broken this video down into two parts in the first half we'll walk through product research and how to find the best products to sell and in the second half we'll go through a real life example showing you how to reach out to brands and open a wholesale account so make sure you watch until the very end because we're going to share with you what we believe is the best strategy for convincing brands to let you sell their products on amazon now with that in mind the first question do you probably have is how do i find good products to sell when it comes to amazon you should first understand what makes a good wholesale product at a minimum the product you choose to sell should have these four qualities high demand for this we typically recommend finding products that sell on average 300 units per month and this is the equivalent of selling around 10 units a day low competition we want to look for products that have no more than five sellers already on the listing that's because if a listing has more than five or so sellers then it becomes a whole lot harder for us to try to compete with them and win the buy box we also don't want any of those sellers to be amazon themselves because for obvious reasons it's best to just stay away from any products where amazon is already in control of the buy box profitable to achieve a healthy profit margin a general rule of thumb is to sell products between twenty and seventy dollars that's because when selling products below twenty dollars your profit margins become very slim especially when you take into account amazon's fees and below seventy dollars helps minimize your product cost and lastly improvement potential now this one's really really important what i mean by this is we want to try to find products that have poor amazon listings so that we can come in and improve them examples of this are listings with only one or two images listings without a product video or even listings that have very few keywords in the title bullet points and product description later on in this video you'll see how this actually ends up becoming the key ingredient that you can use to convince brands to let you sell their products in exchange for you optimizing their listing all right now to begin searching for these types of products you can certainly just go on amazon and try to find products that way except remember you want to look for products that have at least 300 sales per month and as of right now there's no real way of estimating sales on amazon this leaves you with two options the first option is using a free tool that can estimate amazon product sales one of these tools is called jungle scout's free amazon sales estimator how it works is you find a product and open up the listing then pull up the sales estimator and enter three pieces of information first is the best sellers rank you can find this by going back to the amazon listing and scrolling down to the product details section the number you're looking for is right here also take note of the category as well because you'll be needing this information later on going back to the sales estimator copy and paste that number here also make sure to remove the comma as i can sometimes mess with the final calculation second select the amazon marketplace you're selling in and last but not least remember that category you noted earlier go ahead and find it from the list here once you're done just click estimate sales now you'll be able to see the estimated monthly sales on amazon for this product okay now while this is a free way of estimating amazon sales doing this for 10 20 or even 100 products a day can start to become really time consuming you also aren't able to search for and filter through the products that meet the other qualities of a good product so that's why i'm now going to show you how to use jungle scout's product database to search through every product on amazon and find these specific opportunities to start select the amazon marketplace you want to sell in then go through and select one or however many categories you want to search in over here this is where you can input filters to narrow down which types of products you want to find going back to the four qualities we know we want to find a product with high demand so for that we can use the minimum sales filter and enter 300. now for low competition we can use the maximum sellers filter and enter five that way we only see products that have fewer than five sellers in the buy box and it's worth noting we can also put two as the minimum since we don't want to sell anything that's already sold by private label sellers that's because with private label there's usually only one seller in the buy box and typically you're not allowed to sell their products anyways especially if they're brand registered also for even lower competition products we can use the seller type filter and only search for fbm products this serves two purposes first because this box is left unchecked our list of products won't include anything that amazon is selling and second this is actually our first pro tip so i'm gonna hand this one over to a seasoned pro lenny smith hey so to help gain an extra advantage over the competition try to look for products that are only sold using fbm that's because fbn products typically aren't eligible for prime benefits such as free two-day shipping and as a result they don't sell as well so if you can find products that sell over 300 units per month despite using fbm it gives you a ton of hope that you can come in and sell even more units using fba plus when your competitors don't have free two-day shipping and you do amazon will most likely prioritize your offer and give you control over the buy box that's right and that's actually the strategy we're going to be using today finding profitable products to sell and by using fba providing shoppers with a better offer
